GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado (KKCO) – Yesterday afternoon, a postal worker on the corner of Ute Ave and 8th St. was attacked by two dogs.
One of the dogs bit the postman’s hand, the dog did not have an updated rabies vaccination.
Following the standard procedure, the dog is quarantined for observation at the shelter for the next 10 days.
The Grand Junction Police Department worked with Mesa County Animal Services to respond to the incident. The postal worker was treated on site by a paramedic and released.
At this point, Mesa County Animal Services has taken over the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and charges may be brought.
