ROCKTON, Ill. (WIFR) – Area organization brings comfort dogs to Rockton to help area residents after the Chemtool fire.

The Lutheran Church Charities comfort dogs wag their tails for people to pet on Wednesday afternoon at Roscoe Middle School and the Rockton Fire Department. The church brought five dogs from the area to comfort and relax the evacuees and first responders.

‘”You can pet the dog, the dogs don’t talk, they don’t ask questions or make comments, they just listen, and sometimes, by just petting a dog and slowing down a little, it gives you a chance for one Restart, ”said handler Libby Robertson.
